About S.C.B. Medical College

Established in 1944, S.C.B. Medical College stands as one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions in Eastern India. Named after Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekhar Behera, the college has been at the forefront of medical education, research, and healthcare delivery in Odisha for nearly eight decades.

Located in the historic city of Cuttack, the institution sprawls over 85 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a 1800-bed teaching hospital that serves as a tertiary care referral center for the entire state. Our institution is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with Utkal University.

The S.C.B. Medical College Hospital serves as the largest tertiary care referral center in Odisha, handling over 1.2 million outpatient visits and 85,000 inpatient admissions annually. Our emergency department operates 24/7 with a dedicated trauma center, handling over 200 emergency cases daily. The hospital has implemented an electronic medical records (EMR) system across all departments, ensuring seamless patient care coordination.

Specialized services include a comprehensive cancer care center with linear accelerator for radiotherapy, renal transplant program, advanced laparoscopic surgery unit, and a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory. The hospital runs more than 50 specialty clinics including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, arthritis, and memory clinics.

Patient support services include a 24-hour pharmacy, dietary counseling, medical social work, and patient education programs.
